MESSAGE FROM OWNER

Sweetie actually is a community cat that I fed everyday at least twice a day for a year. He would follow me around like a dog he was a very sweet cat rather large and very friendly. He was a male but he was fixed he did not want to stay inside I tried I took him to the vet he tested negative for any kind of feline diseases a year ago. If someone picked him up and won't let him out please let him out I would love to have him be my domesticated cat if possible. I pray he was not hurt or injured and that he will return to the neighborhood and I would love to try to really make him stay inside.

I'm not sure if this will help in your current situation but here is my standard advice for "lost" kitties: I'm sure he/she is hiding nearby or could have been accidently locked in a neighbor's garage - talk to all neighbors in a several block radius. Posters are helpful and do notify police and animal shelters.. Most importantly, I would get a chair, a bowl of her/his favorite food or tuna, a used litter box for scent, and stay outside your door in that chair tonight and every night until he/she comes home. Yes, I know it’s cold tonight but so is it cold for your baby – just bring blankets and a warm hat. Cats hide during the day but will come out late at night when they feel its safe. You need to be there when she/he comes back because he/she will not hang around and wait for you. Be patient and call her/him by name often. This will require some work and inconvenience but it will be well worth the effort.

Sweetie is really not 'lost' - he is missing. I do hope that someone adopted him. I have a wonderful black kitty named BlackBerry who a neighbor fed daily outside for, I am told five years, never trying to bring her in. When I discovered this 2 years ago, I immediately trapped her, got her to the Vet and adopted her. After all her time outside, she doesn't want to hear outside now. All cats can and should be inside cats. They can all adjust to inside with responsible and dutiful parents (owners). If kitties are allowed outside unsupervised. They are not human and really don't understand the dangers of cars and trucks. Its our responsibility to watch out and protect them. God bless sweet little Sweetie ❤ xoxo
