For whomever found the pup: If you have not already, please get this pup to a vet for an health check and scanned for a chip; also check the Pawboost LOST listings. If no success there, please post flyers in the area where the pup was found, and consider knocking on doors. Not everyone is on social media. Also consider posting to Nextdoor. Please do not accept offers from individuals who offer to adopt or take a dog to a rescue without personally knowing them. If you cannot locate the dog’s family, please be sure to get the dog to a legitimate animal care facility who will properly care for the dog and either find the dog’s people or find the dog a new home. Please don’t try to place the dog on your own. Sadly, there are many folks out there with less than altruistic motives who will offer to ‘help.’ And please, verify that the person claiming the dog as a member of their family can prove that claim. Thank you for caring for the pup meanwhile.

Hoping this fur baby can be reunited with it’s owner soon❤️ Anyone’s pet can escape … Please, anyone reading this, ensure your pets are wearing a collar with up-to-date owner contact information (along with proof of rabies vaccination) 24/7 — yes, even when inside the house. That way if they accidentally slip out, you can be notified immediately when found. I’m not trying to shame anyone with this post. I’m trying to remind/educate, because there are 100s of dogs being found across this region every day, with no way of contacting their owners. Sometimes when owners can’t be located, the finders turn them into the shelter or personally keep them safe with the hope the owner can be found. Other times, they leave the dog roaming which puts it in extreme danger. If there’s a collar and tag with owner ID, you can be notified immediately. Don’t think it can’t happen to you. Protect your fur baby.
