Orange tabby cat possibly one year old

Found this super friendly and loving orange tabby cat outside our hse today (ambleton NW area 24th street). We heard howling like distressed cat noises and when we approached him he instantly walked up to us and started rubbing and loving on us. I put out our cat carrier and he instantly went into it. We took him to the vet and he is not microchipped nor neutered. We have him safe in our finished basement away from our other 2 cats and are hoping he belongs to someone as he is such a loving and kind kitty
