If Coco is used to being OUTSIDE on her own… make sure to check inside everything that has been opened for a short time and then closed... your garage, your shed, totes, coolers, vehicles, etc. Then ask ALL your neighbors to check their garages, sheds, RV’s, etc. to make sure she isn't trapped somewhere. (THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES WITH OUTSIDE CATS.) Give all your neighbors a flyer with a picture or description of Coco with your phone number in case they spot her. Post on www. Nextdoor .com and make sure to visit all your local shelters and animal control.

If Coco is normally an INSIDE cat... then she is definitely scared and hiding and you will need to go out at NIGHT with a flashlight and look for her “glowing” eyes. She is VERY CLOSE to your house… most likely in YOUR OWN YARD. They usually find a hiding spot very quickly and very close to where they escaped. Look up in the trees and check under everything in YOUR YARD first… under decks, under sheds, inside bushes, wood piles and storm drains. Then check your neighbors yards. They are very good at hiding. THE BEST TIME TO FIND HER IS AT NIGHT WITH A FLASHLIGHT AND HER EYES WILL “GLOW” BACK AT YOU. Coco is so scared, she will NOT respond to you calling her, so you'll have to use your eyes instead of your ears to find her. When cats are suddenly outside, they go into "survival mode" and their entire personality changes. They will NOT wander. They find a hiding spot very close by and are very scared and will not come out for anyone... even their owners. I hope you find your fur-baby very soon!
