Ask for proof of ownership. Everyone has photos of their pets on their phones. I’m involved in animal rescue and wanted to make you aware. You may not know but please know that there are dog fighting groups that will come in looking respectable and promising to keep the dog forever but will use any animal they can get for free as bait to train their fighting dogs and duct tape his mouth shut and drop him right into the pit and a horrible fate. If you can’t find his owner please, give him away only to someone you know personally or that a friend knows personally. And hoping that you give him to a rescue. Do a full check of veterinarian and friend references. Here are rescues to try.
