To the owner: Go out at dusk & into the dark, & sit in your yard, calling softly. Make noises like you normally would, not too loud. Get a family member to sit with you & chat. Watch for cat eye shine under the bushes. Cats feel safer under cover of darkness, & may be more likely to walk out to you than in broad daylight. Hope that works for you & beautiful kittamus! ~~~ Young Williams Animal Center has Lost & Found notebooks, including location info and photos. You could go look through the Found notebook & put your flier in the Lost notebook. Also, check cats that have been brought in recently. They advise checking every 3 days. Best of success!

I am so sorry about your Kitty being lost. Put the Owner's worn clothes outside all around the house or where the kitty was lost. Kitties don't go far, but they do hide a lot. When it is quiet and darker, go out and shake her food bowl and treat bag and hopefully she will hear it and come out. Take a flashlight out at night. Kitty’s eyes will reflect and make the kitty easier to see. Talk quietly to her like you would if she was inside - yelling can scare them, though this is what we want to do because we want them HOME!! Knock on doors. Someone may have taken your Kitty in so she/he doesn't get hurt. Also ck with your Neighbors and ck their storage areas, sheds, etc. I know of a Kitty who was found in a storage room that had only been open for 5 mins. Put out flyers everywhere - stores, intersections, etc., and put the info on your car windows so that it gets the info out to more people. Use multiple actions to find your Pet...using only one may limit your success in getting your Kitty Home. Look inside over and over. Shake treats. Open food cans if you use canned food. - Any sound that the Kitty may come to. They are very good at hiding so she may have never left the house. Check with delivery people (mail, Amazon, Fed Ex, UPS, etc.) to see if they have seen your Pet. I'll be Praying for the Kitty to be found soon! Also, open the door he escaped from and leave open as long as possible. He will try to come back in that same way. If your cat is an indoor cat, it will be scared and won’t come when called. Try placing their used litter outside. At night, use a flashlight to check under your and your neighbors' bushes and decks for the reflection of your cat's eyes. ‼️Additionally, consider setting up a humane trap as soon as possible, as it's one of the most effective methods for finding lost cats ‼️. You can bait the trap with strong-smelling sardines. These traps can be purchased at local hardware stores or borrowed from animal shelters. While this approach might seem drastic, remember that lost pets often enter survival mode and behave differently. Be sure to research how to use a humane trap effectively. Make sure to visit local animal shelters in person and look for your missing kitty, and post flyers within a one-mile radius of where your kitty went missing. There are also many valuable resources available online if you search for "how to find your missing cat." Important Note: Be cautious of scåmmers who may claim they have found your cat or offer drøne services. It's best not to engage with them. 🙏🏻❤️

Go out early morning or after dark. Chances are you cat is scared and hiding....take a flashlight ...if your cat doesn't come to you, shine it around to see if it catches it's eyes...under bushes and in the trees. Put a BIG, COLORFUL sign at the last place seen so people know where your cat belongs if they spot him or her…ask your neighbors to check sheds, crawl spaces and garages. Go to your local shelters every day or 2 to look for yourself…please don't depend on a phone call. The person you speak to may not be aware that your pet might have been turned in. If possible, leave your door or window open a crack while you're home.

Be sure to GO to your LOCAL SHELTERS with a photo and report your pet lost (your pet may have been taken to a shelter that is not the closest one to you). They have a board for both lost and found pets. Many finders take pets they find to them. Remember, NOT EVERYONE is on Social Media. There's some excellent advice on Missing Animal Response Network on Facebook as well as their website. Additional advice can be found on the website under the drop down menu labeled lost pet help.

Give flyers to the local vet offices and mail carriers too!! Missing Animal Response Network has excellent advice on what to do when your pet goes missing. The section about NEON signs is a must but all of the tips will also help you in your efforts to find your pet. Try putting a large lost sign at the last place seen (someone else may have seen something). Also check on Craigslist under pets lost/found.
