Please help find my baby, he’s not an outdoor cat. He’s scared of almost everything and I’m very worried.

I'm so sorry to hear your cat is missing. We have recently found a cat that looks very similar, living under our deck. I thought it was a female, but I will go check again. FWIW: I'm a rescuer for Nashville Cat Rescue and am very happy to care for it until we find their home :)

Sorry your beautiful kitty is missing. Is he microchipped? Is he wearing a collar with identifying information? Be sure to post on all local lost pet sites including Skippy Lou's and West Nashville and Bellevue Lost and Found Pets. Be sure to include that he is indoor-only. Put flyers up in the neighborhood--not everyone checks social media. Let local vets and shelters know. Make sure he is not trapped somewhere in the house. From my experience, when indoor cats get outside, they usually do not go far. Look VERY nearby: in trees, in bushes, under cars, under porches, under decks, and in your neighbor's yards. Ask your neighbors to be on the lookout for him and to check their crawlspaces, garages, and sheds. Cats sometimes get trapped there. Shake his treats or call him like you do when you feed him. Place your clothing outside so he can follow the scent. Know that he is probably scared and may not respond to your voice or you calling his name. When our indoor cat got out, we unknowingly walked by him several times while calling his name. He stayed hidden in the bushes because he was so scared. Bring an open container of tuna when you are looking. Use a flashlight when looking for him to catch his eye reflections. I am praying that he gets home immediately.

Nick Coble - visit your neighbors to see if someone took him in, and if not, check their crawlspaces as cats often hide there.

Most cats stay fairly close to home when they get out so chances are high your cat is on your property or somewhere on your block, most likely three or four houses away. Search at night with a flashlight because the eyes will glow. Cats sometimes get stuck up in trees and can't get down so check there. Also check inside and under places he might be stuck or hiding such as sheds, barns, garages, crawl spaces, decks. Talk to your neighbors, put up missing cat posters up to a half a mile away, post on all local social media, and make sure to check with animal control weekly. Some people have had luck by putting something with the cat's smell, or the scent of home, out on the porch. Sometimes people also have luck finding their cat by walking around at dawn carrying an open can of tuna or smelly canned cat food.

Kimberly Bynum Scott he ran off last night and we did try looking for him with a flashlight but no luck. We are gonna keep trying ofc, I’ve done a few laps around the whole neighborhood. He’s not used to being outside at all so he’s probably just scared and will hopefully show himself soon

Go out at night when it is quiet with a flashlight so you can see their eyes. and call for them maybe shaking their favorite treat. I would walk a mile radius. My cat was missing for 3 years and she was 1/2 mile down the road the whole time. She was born to barn cats so she was a survivor but I had her since she was a couple months old. She still knew her name when I got her back.
