Javeria Sharif can the friend take off the clothing and take the cat to be scanned for a chip. She needs to give the cat water and food. Is there a local no shelter to take the cat to?

So that beautiful long haired calico is an outside cat? In this heat? If the family can't have a cat in the house, maybe they should consider rehoming for her safety.

Make sure you get proof of ownership. Bad people use lost pets for Bad things especially cats.thank you for taking care of this fur baby.

Thank you for posting. Was your friend able to call shelter to pick up or maybe post on nextdoor to ask someoneelse to check chip/transport? That kitty may be elderly or just got spayed/neutered. They may not be safe from wildlife/the heat. They probly belong to a very close neighbor. I'm sure they have a microchip. It can be scanned at any shelter/rescue/veterinarian and probably petco/petsmart/etc. I double checked and I done see any lost posts yet.

What to do if you find a Cat 1. Please give the cat some food and water. 2. See if the cat has tags. If so, owner can be traced through rabies or microchip tag. 3. If you can safely transport, please take to your nearest vet, Pet Store or shelter to have checked for a microchip. 4. If no ID on cat, post on nextdoor and the Ring Neighbor app. 5. Post on pawboost. You can download a free flyer here. 6. Make a found report to all local shelters 7. Post on PetFBI site. .org is the ending for that site. 8. Post on FB Lost & Found Groups and your Neighborhood group if there is one. 9. If you cannot hold onto for a day or two while searching for the owner, please arrange for the local shelter to take. The cat will go through a legal stray hold if not claimed. This is a last resort as the cat may belong to a neighbor. Some areas allow cats to roam under the TNR ordinance and some do not. 10. If no owner comes forward and you can keep the cat, even better.
