Apache is my beloved companion, seen here with his mother or sister Lilibet (We never knew which). They came to us as strays. Lilibet got out last week and was ed by a coyote. Now Apache is gone: he sat on my lap all yesterday morning, then disappeared. He slept with me every night.

DESCRIPTION

White with black patches; light eyes (may appear blue, yellow, or green). Black tail: tail is broken -- he lets it hang down. Long body, rangy, long thin back feet. Update: it's pretty certain that Apache was carried off by a coyote. Thank you everyone for your care and concern.

Gabrielle Nicolet, the most likely way is slipping past me when I'm carrying something (garbage, water, groceries, mail). Obviously, I don't always see them -- cats are stealthy. Apache had been on my lap for several hours the day he disappeared -- I don't remember why or when he got up (I didn't discover him missing until dinner time).
