He’s an indoor cat he’s not gotten out before he means the world to my kids and I. I did think I saw him by the hse but it’s been 4 days now.

Karen Kay Thank you so much. He was my best friend. I have done that especially late at night. He’s never gotten out before or even tried. He loves watching out the window. It’s my fault I left the door open taking trash out and then we noticed he was gone. I had someone say they saw a cat that looked similar to him hanging around another cat who’s indoor/outdoor about a mile from me. She’s going to try to take a closer look as his one ear is crooked and he’s got the mark on his nose. 🙏 I’m Not giving up hope.

Sheryl Thauvette-Brosch Im so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family 🙏🏻. As for your kitty try sitting outside for awhile and maybe call his name. I had a cat that would get out and I would just sit outside and wait and when she got close enough I scooped her up and inside we went. She no longer tries to make a run for it now she's older. And if you haven't already try posting on the nextdoor app and if you have a ring camera you can post in there to. I hope this helps bring him 🐈🙏🏻

Karen Kay Thank you so much. It’s been a week. I am recently widowed unexpectedly so this just really hits hard. I don’t have money or transportation for a trap right now. We did leave the door open and kept our other cat in a closed room. We will keep trying. He’s a little guy he’s not very big but he’s fast. I saw him once at night but when I opened the door he ran. His blanket is outside some litter in the yard for scent. Food is eaten but we do get strays around here.

Place something personal like a favorite toy or blanket outside your door. Also food and water. Cats have a keen sense of smell. Your post has been shared

Put out something that he's familiar with that carries his scent (a bed, a blanket but NOT a litterbox). CALL FOR HIM IN THE QUIET, STILL HOURS (11pm-7am). THIS IS SO IMPORTANT (5am seems to be the luckiest hour)!!!!!!! Scared cats move around while the rest of the world is still. Put out food in intervals (not at night) when you can keep an eye out. Talk to your neighbors, generally, they don't go far and find an open garage or shed to huddle down. If these suggestions don’t work: lost pet cats may not respond the way you’d expect your beloved kitty to and they may not just come to your calling so be prepared to have to use a humane trap (he will return to himself once he’s back inside) and put signs in your local pet store (if someone takes him in they will need litter and food). I hope you find him 🍀
