Description

Shorthair, tortoises color, bobtail with a tipped Lt ear. She has a small frame and was wearing a Soresto flea collar that had 2 small reflectors on it. She is pretty friendly but cautious of new people and is very vocal (meowing). Doesn't like dogs. She was a barn cat but spent most of her time inside.

Message from Owner

Mimi is a 5 y/o, spayed, tipped L ear, sweet cat. We found her as a kitten and she has enjoyed her life on our farm ever since. I call her my "cruising kitty" bc she likes to ride on everything from the 4 wheeler, utv , the tractors and even in the saddle on the horses. Please reach out if you find her. She means a lot to our family.

Can we assume Mimi is an indoor/outdoor bobtail (manx) tortoises cat (calico, tricolor)? Is she escaped the house, fence or an enclosure, please let me know, otherwise try not to fear the worst — Mimi may simply need some extra help getting home. Thoroughly search using a flashlight during the day and especially at dusk (when it's dark and quiet) to determine whether she’s ill or injured and hiding nearby, or stuck somewhere. Check every crack and crevice, look in outbuildings, containers, vehicles, under foundations, sheds and porches, into trees, etc. — call and listen carefully for Mimi’s cries (she may alert you to her location). And it’s important to ask neighbors to do the same and make sure Mimi didn’t hide and became trapped in a shed or garage, etc. Please see this list of step-by-step instructions developed to help others in this situation (click on the link to the PDF) and let me know if you have questions. https://www.dropbox.com/s/huk0d1p6euu74ug/OutdoorCat.pdf... In addition, this video explains the temperament and behavior of a lost cat — it may instill hope of finding Mimi. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2eCoC63B9I Good luck. Please keep us posted on your progress.

If you have lost a cat read my first long paragraph. If you found one, Please read the last paragraph The only way a lost cat can find its way home is with its nose. Immediately anything with the cat's scent on it and anything that stinks of you like your smelly socks something that you sweated in overnight and your stinky sneakers even your dirty clothes and your underwear! Cats usually stay within a five house radius of their own home for up to a week sleeping in the bushes and coming out at dusk Dawn and late at night. These are good times to take walks shaking the treat bag and calling for them. Cats can smell up to a whole mile away. So do that immediately and also put this on nextdoor. com and the other lost and found pet sites. Go on those sites looking at pics of found cats too. There might be a match. They tend to come home late at night or early in the morning so if you can keep a window cracked or a door cracked so at least you hear them. Good luck IF YOU HAVE FOUND A CAT: Please post this on all the lost and found pet pages in your county as well as all the neighborhood pages. Look on those pages just look at the photos try to make a match to someone that lost this cat. Any vet will check for a chip for free. In the meantime please give food and water to the kitty and shelter if you can.

Judi Elaine I've got 3 different laundry baskets in different locations that have blankets she's laid on and pillow cases with our scent in covered locations since day 2 along with food/water. I've got cell cameras on each location and a trap at 2 of them but have only got pics of an opossum and 2 different strays. I've got signs posted at each of the stop signs leading from our house as well as 3 near our church in Ebro plus at Gigi's, Rainbow, Dollar General (here and Ebro), Ebro post office and even in Pine Log State Park just down 79 from our church. She was fairly friendly and if she went up on someone's porch they may have put her inside. I don't want to think someone is keeping her intentionally but we went over to our church everyday the whole first week and drove up our road hollering for her and she always comes running but nothing. I'm still hoping though.

If all else fails, set a trap. If you catch something else, i.e. raccoon, possum, just set them free. Cats that have been gone for awhile tend to get scared & won't come out & won't come to you. Set the trap
