If you are not sure it got out, make sure not locked in a closet, drawer, furniture, vents, ceiling, openings in basement, lining of furniture/beds etc...Check with neighbors not locked in a garage, deck, under porches, shed especially if decks etc...being built. Check HS daily. In person is better. Put up posters. If able, leave a window/garage door open a bit at night so can return when feels safe. This is also the best time to look for them with a flashlight. Make sure not chased up a tree. Also, if any house building going on, check in the houses...all nooks and crannies. One person recently found theirs using night goggles. And this was a success story...."thank you. We went out every night calling him and searching with flashlight. I brought his food dish with me and shook it too. We emptied the vacuum in the front yard. We searched one block in all directions. One night while searching the back yard we heart a far away meow. We called him, but silence. We stayed outside and talked to each other and called him periodically. It took about a half an hour but his meows were getting closer. Finally I could hear him behind our shed and scooped him up ❤️ I hope anything we did helps someone else
