Thank you for helping this fur baby that you found… I’ve been helping with lost and found pets for over 11 years so I’m passionate about pet safety and pets being reunited. Your location where found is covered by the Mission Viejo Animal Shelter which is a no shelter. Animal Services Officers are on duty from 7 am to 10 pm to respond to the following calls for service: stray dogs running loose, found animals for pick-up, and deceased animals. Please call their main phone line (949-470-3045) and press 2 to leave a message and an Officer will respond as soon as possible. The shelter is one of the first places a pet parent will frantically call searching for their pet. Not everyone is on social media platforms as well. There’s a law that went into play that any stray dog brought into the shelter that is redeemed by owner WILL BE microchipped before being released which will help the dog going forward in the future in the event he/she gets out again.
