- Creating a dog scent station from a rescue who helps reunite pets. Take an unwashed article of THE OWNERS clothing.( Socks , Sheet, Underware & Hang it in a tree ,on a fence , a pole or edge of roof & put an article of unwashed clothes on ground below. The wind will carry the scent. If there is another dog in the home take that dog's fresh poop and rub it on a rag & hang it high . Open your gates. Your garage door , turn on all your lights. Put a rug or towel on porch with a bowl of water. Do not put the dog's bed or the dog's toys outside. The only scent we want is from the owners. Please do this ASAP. Rain or Shine.A dog can find its way back from miles by following a scent. They don't operate like humans on sight or sound. Also saturate the area with bright flyers.& file a lost report with your local shelters and check those in person in case your dog is there.

Walk the Block door to door Neighbors might have taken dog in. Call out their trigger words like cookie, chicken Many people don't use or have social media. Place flyers up with you contact info in area dog went missing. Place a piece of clothing with your scent outside where the dog is familiar with. If you already walked the Block do it again. Dog may have circled back. File a lost report with shelter if a dog comes in they can match it and call you. Also give flyers to local vets in case they take the dog in , they can match it as well. Post to nextdoor and ring. Check craigslist to see if dog is for sale or re homed for money. Just keep the dog visible keep sharing and place flyers up in neighbor lost ,someone may see dog being walked and recognize him from flyer and call you. DO NOT GIVE UP. Give a picture to your mailman. They see all dogs on their route. IMPORTANT WALK YOUR BLOCK KNOCK ON DOORS,. GIVE THEM YOUR INFO, Neighbor may have taken in dog. Check homeless camps nearby. Homeless often take in strays.
