They almost always hunker down under a porch or inside a garage or shed and they will not answer your calls. They are terrified. Have your neighbors leave garages and sheds open at dusk while you side outside with an open can of tuna calling to your cat. Mine was locked in a neighbor's garage for 5 days even though we checked there several times. The adult never opened the garage but her children did without her knowledge. Luckily another neighbor said he'd seen the door open and the adult agreed to leave it open overnight and my cat came home!
