Message from Owner

Let my dog out to potty before bed, and he has extreme anxiety, heard our neighbors fireworks go off. Went to let him back in but he was gone. This is my best friend and I’ve had him since he was a month old, I’m really saddened and distraught. Please share and if you have any information or sighting pls reach out. He’s extremely anxious, and quiet.

Robin Mackintosh I appreciate the apology and the concern. I understand where you are coming from and I hope to also find my son. There has not been a second of the day I have not thought about him and cried about things that could have been different but cannot be changed... I just want him home. I am still searching and praying. Thank you ❤️

Tuiana Loa I am sorry. It’s just that for the days leading up to the fourth and days after the fourth social media is filled with missing dogs who are afraid of fireworks. Listen, I know things happen. Several years ago, no where near the fourth, I made a terrible mistake and it resulted in two of my dogs being missing for two days. I thought I would die and still haven’t forgiven myself. I pray you find you sweet dog❤️ and really, I wasn’t being critical, I was trying to draw attention to a situation that can be avoided, not just to you but to others in this situation.

If chipped contact chip company and make sure your contact info is up to date and let them know it’s missing. Post on Nextdoor. Check all surrounding shelters in person daily and make a missing report. Make fliers and post everywhere. Walk area missing in withen three blocks and ask neighbors. Leave a blanket or a piece of clothing with your scent on it on your porch or area missing in. Beware of scammers asking you to go on Instagram, or for money, or a code etc.

Robin Mackintosh I’m his owner and I would like to say something: I let my dog out for about five minutes to use the bathroom. We have an upper and lower deck, so when he didn't come when I called, I checked under the deck, around the shed, and inside the house because I thought one of my kids might have let him back in. By the time I realized he had gotten out, we immediately started searching and have spent hours looking for him. A few minutes was all it took, and that's the reality of situations like this. It had nothing to do with us not wanting to STAY outside with him. Ridiculous. And don't hide behind "I don't mean to be critical." You were being critical. You made assumptions about a situation you knew absolutely nothing about. To everyone who has been kind, shared our post, and helped us search—thank you. We truly appreciate you. We love you Rex, we’re still looking son❤️

Robin Mackintosh i have one dog that is totally afraid of fireworks. She goes out Ave comes back in fast. I have to make her go out. The other smaller dog, almost 15, does what she wants. She goes out being the shed. Under the decks but she does come back in. It is fenced and secure. Not everyone can go out with their dogs.

I don’t mean to be critical in an emotional time, but I wonder why anyone lets their dogs out on their own during this week? Whether your dog is afraid of fireworks or not, they should be accompanied. Our yard is completely fenced, we always go out and STAY OUT with them.
