Renee Ramsey Schaffrath Michigan state police. The Sherifs office and animal control apparently close early, animal control stated that this “didn’t meet their definition of an emergency” so the state police were sent out. The first officer didn’t have a partition or anything to secure him with in her car so they had to wait for another officer to show up with the crate and catch pole. When my mom called the Livingston County Shelter to check in on him yesterday they confirmed he was there and they told her that animals are dropped off and left outside in crates after hours. There has to be a better way for these types of situations to be handled, the poor animals don’t deserve to be left outside scared and alone. Poor guy already had a traumatizing day and then he had to spend the night outside alone locked in a crate in a strange place, my mom was very upset about it. Hopefully they change that policy

Rachel Serna I’m sorry, the police need to do better. You never leave a lost/dumped dog in a crate in the elements. What PD?
