Make sure you go out at night time when it gets dark and call him. Cats are nocturnal animals and they come home in the dark. As you know they're up all night so that's when they'll come home when you're asleep then they just turn around and leave if no one's there to let them in so you must stay up sometime after 8:00 and go out there and call him until he comes home it does work. Put his litter box outside and maybe some of your clothing and keep calling them just stay out there. You might want to walk around with a flashlight under look under bushes sometimes they hide under bushes and check with your neighbors to make sure he's not stuck in a garage somewhere as the cats get stuck in places even your own garage make sure he's not stuck somewhere and make sure you put it on that app and keep posting until you find him

If chipped make sure owner contact info is current with chip company. File online lost reports with shelters. Post on Nextdoor and post flyers. Put something outside with the kitty's scent on it and call the cat's name at night when quiet and shake food container. Check in trees and keep checking shelters online and in person.
