Message from Owner

Our best friend, Fancy, has not been seen since Thursday afternoon. We miss her terribly, and have shed many tears. She is spayed and not chipped. She never travels farther than where we can see her from the hse. She’s 2.5 years old. She knows her name, and prefers children to adults.

Put a sign in your front yard with picture and your phone number. Put signs everywhere. Put signs on your car and drive around. Tell neighborhood kids, mailmen, trash truck drivers, police. Go door to door with cat's picture. Put a piece of your clothing outside to draw cat. Go walking after dark with flashlights. Prayers and good luck.

Think like a cat. Back gardens are their roads and highways. Remember ‘Carbonel’. Puss may be locked in somewhere and not everyone sees Facebook. Please put leaflets through letterboxes, on your block and the one opposite, with a photo and a mobile number, asking people to check their sheds and outbuildings. The WHOLE BLOCK. Many people who work full time and drive do not walk past lamppostss and see posters, so leaflets are best and have a greater reach. A mobile number is excellent because people can text you to say ‘Puss was in my garden at No 14 last night’. Good luck!

Hope she’s safe. Use a flashlight to look in, under, behind all dark spaces so that their eyes glow. You can do this during the day, but especially at night when things are quieter. Check inside the house as well just in case. Look up in trees in case kitty climbed up to escape another animal. Put some of your dirty laundry and the cat’s bedding outside for the scent. Leave a door cracked open so they can get back inside. Set up trail cameras outside and use a humane trap that you can buy at a hardware store or borrow from a rescue. Ask neighbors to check garages and sheds. Hang LOST signs in your area. Post on Nextdoor app, Ring app, area facebook pages, and lost and found facebook pages. Make sure microchip information is accurate. Check local animal shelters in person.
