Here are some tips to help you find your cat: You can contact animal control and police in case someone finds your cat and calls them. Also use pawboost, lostmykitty and petfbi to list your cat as well. With Lostmykitty, their free option includes making a flyer, and I believe they email a photo to all the local shelters. They also offer an amber alert where they will call and leave a message about your missing cat to all your neighbors. If you choose the free optionr first, they than usually offer you a discount on the amber alert. Probably the most helpful thing you can do is see if your town and surrounding towns have community Facebook groups and join them andy share this post there. These are the people who will see your cat! And if you haven't already, post your lost cat on the many missing pet sites on Facebook. There are usually several for specific areas. When indoor only cats get outside, they often start acting wild, making it hard to catch them. You can try setting a humane trap in your yard. This has helped many people catch their cats. Also having a trail camera will let you know if your cat is coming around. And usually indoor cats are very frightened outside, so they find a good hiding spot nearby and often stay there. So search with a flashlight at night and look for glowing eyes in hiding spots and up in trees. Sometimes when an indoor cat gets out, they start acting a bit feral. So if you are able to leave the door your cat got out of a little open or even a window, they might come back in on their own when no ones around. This has worked for me before. Also, call all the local vets and emergency vets and email them a photo so they can keep an eye out if anyone brings your cat to the vet. Lastly, check the local shelters on Facebook regularly as they usually post pictures of the animals they receive. You can also file a missing pet report with them and you can go to them in person and look at the cats they have. I hope you find your cat soon 💚

They usually don’t venture far. It’s probably scared & hiding near by in bushes or an open garage. Most kitties will stay put in their safe hiding spot. ( if they’re not fixed they can wonder further, depends on circumstances) Ask neighbors to check their sheds, decks, garages. They usually venture out at night after 24-48hrs when they start getting hungry. The “witching” hour when they come out is 3am. If you see your pet, don’t try to grab it, it’s still on survival mode and will run. Just sit down maybe with some treats and let your pet come to you. (Remember, never put the litterbox outside. Other cats will mark it & scare your cat away. Just in case, also set some humane traps near by, hide them in the bushes where your pet might hide. Good luck & don’t lose hope. Pray to St Anthony, he hasn’t let me down. 🙏🏻🐾

*I have read about these Successful recovery tips: *If you have a garage or low-level window, keep it ajar should your cat come home on his own even at night! *I was told cats do not travel far, so also share to your *local* township Facebook pages* AND Nextdoor app & flood your development that you live in with fliers. Fliers generate sightings. Lawn signs are very effective, eye-catching and waterproof. Put them at nearby intersections. ♦️From Er No: “Our friend was told to put out clothing, with her smell and stand in ONE spot for a half hour, calling him...he was missing 2 weeks. If you walk around calling them, they keep changing direction to follow your voice and cannot hone in on where you are. She put out clothing she wore 12 hours, then stood at her back fence for over 45 minutes, calling him. She went inside and within 1 hour, he showed up. It is worth a try.” From West ord Lost Pets: “TINKER has been FOUND❤️ Maryann stayed on the porch for hours last night, playing soft music that was familiar to Tinker, and with her blanket and food, and did not see her. When she got up this morning, she went into the woods with her treats and breakfast, and TINKER came out very warily and wouldn’t approach, but by talking softly and preparing Tinker’s breakfast Tinker slowly approached and came up to her as she sat quietly. Maryann scooped her up and ran into the house, with her girl safe in her arms❤️” *At latest sighting set a humane trap & surveillance cameras. *This worked for another person recently: She “sat out in the dark in a lawn chair and called softly to him. He came running.” *When posting to any missing pet pages, be VERY careful of scams. Do not send $ or codes to anyone. Often scammers will say “Go to Instagram” <— but don’t! Most lost pets are networked in Facebook & Nextdoor app. Many reputable trappers & trackers are volunteers in NJ and do not charge. *Check notifications on Ring Doorbell, share on Nextdoor app ask neighbors to check their rings
