My technique is a little different, but has worked. I go out and sit in area where I think the cat might be and I talk to the cat. I might say Cookie how are you doing? Want to come see me. or anything you might say to her. Take some dry snacks out if she likes those and shake the treat container a little. But mostly talk to her just like you would inside.
