Julie Prukop Tatarek yes the number was from southern CA so we suspected scam. Glad your kitty made it home we are praying our big boy Dave finds his way home too. 🙏🏻

Yes I got one too when I was missing my cat and they wanted verification. I said are you texting from Baltimore?, as that's where the area code was and he said yes and I said well my cat must have walked along f****** way to get there!! (because I'm in Renton). Scammers!! :( Good luck on finding your kitty mine finally came home after 12 days.
