When my boy went missing, my vet encouraged me to make a scent trail for him to find his way home. He encouraged me to put out my cats, favorite toy, bedding, and litter box cleaned out or not, preferably all the fenced yard or in the garage with the door up just enough for him to slide under. He also said, get a used pillowcase from the owner and put some of the owners old shoes out as well. He said cats are nocturnal so don’t look for him during the day. He’s hiding and sleeping somewhere and he was right my cat come home at 3:30 in the morning.
