Message from Owner

Has anyone seen our indoor-outdoor car, Leo? He’s been missing since sometime Sat, Sept 19. His collar with tracker has come off, but we believe he’s still wearing his flea collar. His normal territory is usually only a couple blocks, but he could travel further if spooked.

I am so sorry about your Kitty being lost. Put the Owner's worn clothes outside all around the house. Kitties don't go far, but they do hide a lot. When it is quiet and darker, go out and shake her food bowl and treat bag and hopefully she will hear it and come out. Talk quietly to her like you would if she was inside - yelling can scare them, though this is what we want to do because we want them HOME!! Knock on doors. Someone may have taken your Kitty in so she/he doesn't get hurt. Also ck with your Neighbors and ck their storage areas, sheds, etc. I know of a Kitty who was found in a storage room that had only been open for 5 mins. Put out flyers everywhere - stores, intersections, etc., and put the info on your car windows so that it gets the info out to more people. Use multiple actions to find your Pet...using only one may limit your success in getting your Kitty Home.

Search at night with a flashlight (eyes will glow) up in trees and inside and under things on your property and up to three or four houses away. Cats normally stay pretty close to home. You can put something with the smell of the cat, or the scent of home, out on the porch. Put up missing cat posters, check with your neighbors, post on all local social media groups, and check with animal control every week. Leave your garage door up enough to allow the cat entry. You can also try searching early morning, before dawn, calling his/her name and carrying an open can of tuna or cat food. Hunger sometimes lures them out of hiding. Don't forget to check places like crawl spaces, garages, and sheds.

They are usually close, like less than a mile. Put out favorite pungent smelling food, go out really late at night a few times shake a treat/catnip bag calling, run a can opener (if it knows that sound) always check at night they are nocturnal, or early mornings. Put out the litter box at your discretion, as it might attract other unwanted animals. It's cat tree/blanket, or pillow/cat bed, anything with familiar scent. Check your, and the neighbor's, bushes, in trees, under/behind things, they can hide in really small obscure spaces. People on here have found them in a gopher hole, in/under a deck, in outdoor patio furniture, tree lines behind the house, etc. My neighbor left their garage door cracked open or a window, and their daughter's kitty came back in at night. Sometimes, someone nearby takes them in and starts feeding them like they are stray, so it may not come home right away. Post Flyers / on Nextdoor / All the Facebook Grps for your area & Ring Doorbell if you can. Get in front of more people. ♡
