Poor cat someone in your neighborhood probably abandoned him 😔. Please give him food and water until help comes. Post this on Las Vegas Cats. There are rescues in that group that can help

1. TNR: So far the cat hasn’t let us closer than 4 ft. If it does we will absolutely contact a TNR operation 2. Shelter: We will not take the cat to a shelter if we can’t find it’s family. On the off chance we do catch it we will try local no- shelters and see if they have any openings. If they do - great, we’ll take the cat there. If they don’t - we will do the TNR option and release the cat back to the street. 3. Indoor/Outdoor cat: We are aware this is a possibility, but I doubt it’s the case. Over the past 2 weeks we’ve had some cold & windy nights and the cat still came by and ate. Also, he/she seems awfully hungry. I can only hope this isn’t someone’s indoor/outdoor cat, because no pet should be this hungry.

In the instance of Cats: It is a kindness to try to trap any ferals and/or strays that you see so that they do not continue to procreate. This cat does not have a “tipped ear” (tip removed) which means the cat has not previously been trapped, neutered and/or spayed and released back to the area from which it came as a “street cat”. TNR is not an ideal solution but neutering and spaying of cats prevents further litters of kittens born to suffer life on the streets. Neutering probably would stop the male cat from spraying, which is essentially, territory marking. Please contact some of these Trappers to help the cat: Contact: http://www.c5-tnr.org/ The Las Vegas Trapping Girls (Cat Trapping) may be able to help: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1929843073802636/?multi_permalinks=7369475909839298%2C7369274796526076%2C7368204286633127&notif_id=1713791320635314&notif_t=group_highlights&ref=notif Also - My Feral Babies https://www.facebook.com/nathalie.medina. And - thelasvegastrappinggirls@yahoo.com These volunteers do an excellent job of capturing feral cats, stray dogs, etc. Because they are volunteers (who also hold jobs) you must ask to join the Group. Their left ear will be tipped as a sign that they are a “TNR” cat. (Trap, Neuter, Release). After healing, the cat(s) are returned to the area from whence they came. Yes, not the best solution, the alternative would be to euthanize them all. By sterilizing the cats, breeding comes to a halt. There will be no new kittens to suffer life on the street. The cat may belong to a neighbor who allows it to roam, or the cat may have been abandoned when someone moved out. If you feel the cat is in danger, this is a list of Cat Rescues: You may have to go to the sites in person. Sites are short staffed, telephone calls often go to VoiceMail. The question is, "What is best for this cat?" Do we ignore the cat and hope it goes "home"? Do we call Animal Protection Services or PawsPatrollV? Both will deliver the cat to The Animal Foundation, 655 N. Mojave Road. Many cats (and dogs) never are claimed by their owner, nor are the pets adopted by a kind person or family. Some of them end up being euthanized. Do we call the Trappers who will spay or neuter the cat and bring the animal back to where it was picked up, to live the remainder of their life on the street as a stray?
