I'm missing my boy and he's been gone for 16 days and he would be home if something didn't keep him from walking through that door. My cat's not chipped my cat's neutered not with the tip of his ear missing but with a tattoo that's hidden under his belly fur. My cat's an inside outside cat my cat roams. And I would hope that somebody wouldn't keep my cat but only help him like give him a little bit of food or whatever but not capture him and detour him from being able to come back home. My cat explores my cat is an inside outside cat I live in the country but either way that guy had a collar on didn't it even if it didn't it needs to go back home not all cats running around are feral and homeless

If he looks good, I think you should leave him alone. He knows where he lives. If he continues to hang around then he needs attention. If not, he's just passing thru and your too involved. Cats are smarter than your giving them credit for. Let him out. If he stays, then intervene. You could be creating some huge emotional scenario for the cat and its owner. People have good intentions, but are overreacting. People need to stop trying to save the world when it comes to cats!!!!
