The Lancaster DA is negligent. The "Hot Car Law" (Act 104 of 2018) What it prohibits: Confinement in an unattended vehicle in a manner that endangers the animal’s health or well-being due to heat, cold, or lack of ventilation. Who can intervene: Law enforcement, humane officers, animal control, and emergency responders are legally authorized to enter the vehicle and remove the animal if they are in imminent danger. This law also says their doesn't need to be criminal intent and that "sheer forgetting" is punishable. So accident or not, this is a school therapy dog that would make it a tax payer asset. Charges must be brought because this would be done for anyone else. Your status does not make you exempt from the law. The Lancaster County DA and the PD are covering up this dog murder situation because the principal would lose her job for animal neglect.
