Annette Simmons A lot of people do not take care of their dogs or cannot afford vet care. Most dogs are lost not dumped. I wish I could go and get him but I have the Dallas limit. Dachshunds are my heart. I do not think I could have taken him to the shelter. Is he going to stay at Garland or be transferred to Rowlett? Did you get his ID number? We need to make sure he makes it out of there.

Lucy Hunt Deterding Yes, I think he was possibly dumped. I have Dachshunds, 1 is 15 and he’s nowhere near in that condition. 🙁And all my pups are chipped, vaccinated, spayed & neutered.

Lucy Hunt Deterding Yes, Rowlett shelter was closed, Garland Shelter will notify Rowlett tomorrow. They are aware he was running in the street. He is safe atm, hopefully the owner will try to check them out. He was in bad condition with itching skin & a belly tumor.

Annette Simmons why is he at the Garland Shelter if he was found in Rowlett? His owners are going to look at the Rowlett Shelter. Did the finder tell Garland he was found in Rowlett? The Rowlett Shelter needs to know this dog from their city is at the Garland Shelter.
