Teddy Henn is LI’s best dog tracker his Facebook page is Long Island Lost Dog Search & Rescue. He works on donations only. He’s amazing, he has an excellent reputation of reuniting pets and their owners. He is well known throughout NY and has saved countless dogs. Take a look at his Facebook account I listed above to see some of the dogs he’s rescued. I will leave his card. Again he works on donations only. Not hundreds or thousands of $…nothing like that. Everyone recommends him on Facebook believe me. You won’t regret it if you reach out to him.

Helpful Hints: Post huge fluorescent colored paper signs all around! Post on Nextdoor.com, Pawboost and all Lost and Found Sites in other boroughs and suburbs. Check all vets offices, shelters and rescues throughout. Check Craigslist Lost and Found Pets. Rehoming/Selling Pets etc. sections ! Check all bushes, alley ways, especially in the morning and evening time. Walk around waving something scented of yours and also your pets so he/she will detect it while you call out their name. Tie your shirt or something scented of yours and your pets where your pet was last seen. Search teams and scent dogs can provide help also. If you know of another dog owner their dog can be used to detect the scent of your lost pet. It's worked many times! Hope this helps!

🐾Lost Dogs Please follow my (original) advice. Report to local police and animal control. Find out what shelter your town’s animal control contracts with to bring in strays. ⬇️ Knock on neighbor’s doors within a 2 mile radius and speak to people, hand out lost dog flyers. This is how you get sightings. Please put on the flyer “Do not call out. Do not chase.” Do not publish the locations of where the dog was seen because you’ll have a lot of people trying to go “Rescue” the dog which will force the dog further away. You do need sightings though, people keeping an eye out and contacting you with sightings and locations where seen. ⬇️ Please contact a legitimate lost pet trapping and recovery organization. Some are volunteer based. You can put a worn shirt (underarm scent) on your porch and replace with a freshly worn one daily. It’s a dog had a blanket that it slept on, you can put that out too. You can try barbecuing meat to draw the dog back. K.R.
