Dark grey cat with light grey stripes on her side, tail, and chest and small in size. Eyes are yellow/green and angular in shape

Message from Owner

This is not Misty, but her sister Willow (I unfortunately do not have any photos of Misty herself). They look extremely alike, but Misty has more stripes! Misty is a very skittish cat and small in size so I really want her back home- she is the sweetest cat. If you gain her trust she is such a love bug. She's just over a year old and has her entire life ahead of her so I really want her home!!

I heated up tuna in the microwave until it smelled and put it out with a blanket my cat sleeps on with me. Then I grabbed a YouTube video that’s 10 hrs long of a mom cat calling her babies…. I played that on my cell with a flash light and walked around my property and my neighbors later at night when it was quiet. While playing the video and calling my cat he meowed and I heard him and was able to grab him. I’m praying for ya

Look for her very early morning when it’s quiet also get a trap. Set it close to your house. Check it often and put fresh food in there.

Indoor only or used to being outside? This difference matters when you’re trying to find them. Indoor only cats rarely will show themselves during the daytime & often will not respond to you calling them. They hide close by, then often return during the night to where they got out of your house, & they try to get back in. If your cat is strictly an indoor cat, then if possible, try leaving the exit point open after dark to see if they will walk back in on their own. Having a camera set up outside the exit point is very helpful to alert you if they’re approaching. If you can’t leave the exit point open after dark, then you need to set a humane trap outside the exit point & have it ready at dark. Either way, do not go outside once you leave the exit point open or you’ve set a humane trap. Your cat probably won’t approach if you’re outside walking around. Secure any other pets in another room if you leave the exit point open. Place some of your worn clothes outside the exit point for scent. Do not put the litter box outside as it will attract other neighborhood cats who will prevent your cat from returning. Here’s a checklist for cats who are used to being outside: https://www.hatsalive.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/check-list-for-lost-outdoor-access-cat.pdf
