◦ Place his/her litter box outside where he/she can smell it and put food and water out as well. Cats can smell their litter box outside up to two miles away from home. Also check under storage sheds and anywhere else he/she can get under in your yard and neighbors yards. Cats rarely wander far from home unless chased and then they hide under something close to home. Go out after dark with a flashlight and his/her favorite treats and call his/her name. Shine the light around shrubs and under cars looking for glowing eyes. Don’t give up looking for him/her. Go door to door and ask neighbors to check their garages and storage sheds to be sure he/she is not trapped inside someone’s garage or storage shed or even in their house. He/she may be trapped inside someone’s house just waiting for the chance to get out and make his/her way home. Be sure to have your plan and someone to help you with retrieving your cat. It may not recognize your voice immediately so you may need someone to distract it with something yummy while you pick it up. (I just got that tool to put in my toolbox this morning from an individual who was trying to find and retrieve his cat. After successfully following my other suggestions he couldn’t catch his cat without the help of a friend.) Don’t forget to check the Animal Shelter every other day. You’ll need to go there in person because they don’t have enough staff to go look at every cat they have to see if yours is there. You are really the only person who recognizes your pet 100%. Good luck finding your baby.

Put her litter box outside and hang some of your daughter’s dirty clothes outside so the cat can smell her way back home. Hope she comes home soon 🙏
