Don't give up, I know a lady that lost her cat in another state and kept looking and found her a month later. I don't know how it works for cats,but for a dog, my took a coat that had his scent on it and laid it out where he last had his dog, finally after 2 weeks of looking and a few days after laying out his coat, he came back to find his dog laying on the coat.. Take something that has your scent and lay it out where you last saw your precious kitty.
