It is considered a public safety risk for animals to roam. Your exact words were, "she was only gone for a week" as if you think it is ok for an animal to roam. It is your responsibility to keep your animal contained.

ZooTrek, Inc. not to mention there is multiple county shelters that have stopped using you recently because you are not even telling the shelters where you are taking THEIR ANIMALS that they’re releasing to you. You’re a snake just like the other shelters are stating!

ZooTrek, Inc. I checked the website daily/social media platforms to see if my dog was posted every single day and my dog was never posted on anything. You guys are responsible for this matter considering the county is telling me my dog was held for 7 days and you are saying 6. Also, there is no law stating that my dog should’ve been picked up walking down our neighborhood street by a county employee while on her lunch break then never posting her. She had on a collar and I was never given the opportunity to come get her. I did not know this place even existed behind the humane society until I seen a dog posted similar to mine and I was given the address to come by and confirm if it was her or not then I found out all of this other information. I deserve to know what county she was transported to, if someone adopted my dog and I had proof she is mine the right person would give her back!! Your business is wrong and should be held liable for this incident.

Shanda Kari you stated your dog got out on 4/11/2026. It was picked up by the County almost 2 weeks later on 4/22/2026. It became the property of the county after the stray hold expired. Then it was transferred to ZooTrek 6 days later on 4/28/2026, and delivered to a rescue who placed her up for adoption. You did not even reach out to the county until 5/5/2026. Why did you wait more than 3 weeks to try to locate your dog??? Florida Statute 823.15(7) prohibits the release of any information regarding the identity of the new owner of the animal. This is not the county's fault, nor ZooTrek's. Florida law requires the shelter to have a listing of found animals within the shelter OR online. The law also requires animal owners to properly restrain their animals. We understand your distress over your pet, and we are sorry that we cannot provide you with any information, but you are responsible for this incident, not the County, and not ZooTrek.

The Columbia County, FL Animal Enforcement employee picked my dog up on my street while she was on her lunch break and took her back to the county shelter where her photo was never posted that they picked her up and now zoo-trek has shipped my dog off somewhere. The county named her April, that is NOT her name.
