Terry Vizcarra-Hendershot We knew she had escaped and went up and down the street, all over the neighborhood, especially at night, looking for her. One night, we finally spotted her in someone’s yard. These people had outside cats and she had taken to eating with them in their yard and garage. I wasn’t even positive that she was our girl at first and she wouldn’t come to me. She’d sort of reverted to being a street cat and had kind of forgotten. I never stopped trying and someone even called the police, thinking I was a prowler, but I wasn’t going to let anything stop me. I asked permission to put a trap in their garage, but they refused. But I knew she was at here, so we made it known there was a reward for her return and the same people who owned the garage finally brought her back one day, the better part of a year later. If I saw that plumber, I’d probably feel compelled to run them down. On top of losing Tipper, they cheated my dying mother and caused problems that led to her death. The one upside is that she before she paid them and I wasn’t about to. But the reward and our making a nuisance of ourselves is what ultimately led to her being returned. We never gave up. And it only took a day for her to return to her old routines. She was just at my feet playing chase with one of her sons, Butters, who is sitting on the arm of this chair as I write this. I’m going to the bed to lay down with the whole family now, but we wish you luck. I’ve had neighbor’s cats trapped in my garage and they come looking for others in our back yard. I told them to just let themselves in. Another time, we went on vacation and asked a friend to feed our cat kid and she said he escaped. Non cat people are careless and he was stressed because he didn’t know where we’d gone. He lived in a neighbor’s garage until we finally came home. He was smart and came straight home when he heard my voice. My dumb neighbor who lets his cat outside, his wife comes calling for him almost every day. Be persistent, organized, put out fliers and knock on every door, especially on weekends and when people are home from work. Believe you will be reunited, don’t give up and it will happen. You might have to work and go 2 or three blocks, on streets above and behind, too, because they hop walls. But it will happen. The very best of luck! Always here if you need advice.
