If it’s an inside-only cat that got out, chances are that it didn’t go far. Think of every place close by your home where your kitty could be hiding, go out with a flashlight calling his or her name, and even if the cat is too scared to come out to you, its eyes will pop right out in a dark space with the flashlight shining into them. Usually, they will hide during the day and come out at night when it's quiet and safe. Leave the door or window they escaped from open and they may sneak back in. When my daughter's dog got lost, we made up 100 flyers with his picture and three of us fanned out and handed out flyers to every home and business within a mile or so radius, as well as tacking them up on poster boards. Within three hours we got a call from someone with a flyer in hand and our pup was back home safely. Everyone with a flyer in hand has your phone number at the ready to call you if they see your lost cat. This works! Be sure to include on the flyer asking folks to check their outbuildings, as lost cats may go into an open door to find a place to hide, then get shut in.Set up a humane trap as soon as possible, as it's one of the most effective methods for finding lost cats. You can bait the trap with strong-smelling sardines. These traps can be purchased at local hardware stores or borrowed from animal shelters. If you catch a different animal, simply release it and reset the trap. Make sure you cover the trap with an old towel or blanket so the trapped animal will never be subjected to direct sunlight or rain. Be sure to check the trap frequently and let someone know you have a trap set just in case something happens to you. If you find your kitty, please consider getting a gps tracking collar for your pet, as well as putting an ID tag on his/her collar (PetSmart has machines that make these and this is their phone call home!), and get a microchip in case it gets out again. I just bought four gps collars for my cats, $18 per collar on Amazon, and they work great! My prayers are with you!

Please place its bedding 🛏 outside, along with the owner's unwashed clothing👚👖 front and back door 🚪with a contents of tuna can 🐟 on each entrance, you can leave your garage door a bit open as well. In case it comes in that way. And leaving food there as well...supervise food outdoors. Also vaccumed home 🧹dirt in a stocking hanging it in front and back of home🏡 enterence . You can also add some catnip 🌱in a stocking hanging by your entrances. Show your neighbors 🖼picture of the🐈 cat. Ten houses to the left ten house to the right front and back if they spot him to give you a call☎️ immediately. Also, you can put up a Sign post 📄with your 🐱📷 picture. In front of your 🏡lawn and to call you or contact you ASAP. Go early in the ☀️morning and shake treats calling the cats name when things are quiet.. Tell neighbors to check their sheds and garage.Just in case it's trapped.. Also, you can install a camera / Baby monitor 📹 to monitor and see & hear if the cat is around your house 🏡. You can even ask your Local Pet 🐱 Animal Shelter to rent out safe trap and monitor it.. Praying for a soon safe return 🍀of your kitty 🙏 ❤️🏡🐾

Cats usually don't travel very far—-maybe a block or two. They hide under homes or sheds during the day time. Go outside with a flashlight, especially at night and look under porches, house, sheds and nearby bushes. Think like a cat— look low, under shrubs, behind wood piles, and look for their eyes to glow in the light of a flashlight beam. Put their bedding outside the door they escaped from or some of the owner's dirty clothing. Do not put out litter box as they could attract other animals that may scare off your cat. Usually they will hide during the day and come out at night when it's quiet and safe. Leave the door or window they escaped from open and they will usually sneak back in. Leaving a trail of chicken broth or tuna juice from the yard back to the door helps too. Put flyers up within a two block radius. Ask neighbors to check in sheds and under porches.

You may have already, but post on Eugene and Springfield lost and found pets fb page. Mention location, cross streets. Also Next Door for non FB folks, go online and file report with Greenhill Humane Society. I found my girl knocking on neighbors doors. 🐾🙏🏻🐈‍⬛
