Vets can scan for chip. whatever you do get hard proof of ownership and veterinary references for any fosters or adopters and CALL them as people search these sites for bait dogs and backyard breeding. Send women and kids to get them to not raise red flags.

This is why you get a vet reference and do a home visit and charge an adoption fee when rehoming your pets. Please be very selective of who you place this found pet with. There are deable, unscrupulous, seemingly sincere people who would fool you into thinking they genuinely love animals. When in fact they use them for bait training or a food source.
