When it gets dark keep lights outside low and sit down outside the door. Soft familiar calls. Walking around can keep them in hiding. She’s not far and will want to come back when she feels safe. Key is to lure and make her feel safe to come out of hiding.

File a lost cat report with Virginia Beach Animal Control and Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center on Birdneck Road. Check with Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center on Birdneck Road in person every day between noon and five. Cats usually don't roam too far from home so shake a container of the cat's kibble outside and call the cat's name repeatedly. Set out the cat's litter box and some bedding with the cat's scent on it. Check the website and Facebook posts from Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center for strays brought in every day. Hoping for a happy reunion.

Sharon Haring the problem is we just moved here today and are staying in a hotel, she has never been in this area before. The brush she ran into is quite thick as well, we laid one of our t shirts out with a tin of chicken in the place she had bolted, but it’s hard to keep the crabs and flies off of it.

This is my cat and we have been trying to find her all day, she went missing at around 11:30 this morning on the Naval base by the Navy Inn and Dam Neck Beach. She can be very vocal and friendly, she is micro chipped. Please let us know if you see her. We are very worried.
