Pamela Mitc they come out in the middle of the day on occasion here, but those are the ones that are desperate and not finding enough food at night or they’ve been fed by humans or they find lots of food on the ground from all of the humans who don’t clean up after themselves and drop food and wrappers all over the ground it’s easy access for those coyotes and it brings them into the areas near small children. It’s bad behavior too bad people are such litter bugs. They also can be out hunting midday if they are ostracized from the rest of their pack due to either an injury or discoloration or whatever reason they don’t like one of them. I live in the city of San Francisco, not out in the country

Theresa Ziskovsky You are wise never to leave your pets unattended. It’s my understanding coyotes usually hunt at dawn and dusk, but I don’t think that applies to urban coyotes living in cities like Pasadena, Ca. The first coyote I ever saw was at the Pasadena swap meet about 11:00 am.
