San Francisco, CA Lost Male Dog, Macho Is Missing

Pamela Mitc we have them in the back of our building almost every night and they have taken three dogs from my building mostly because the owners pay no attention at all and leave their dogs that are small off leash while the coyotes are sneaking around back there The complex has removed the trees and shrubs that they would hide behind, but they are very stealth and they glide through and ed a dog here and there I keep my dogs on leash and pay attention while I’m outside, but my bigger dog has chased the coyotes away from us a couple of times One person actually had a coyote her dog while it was on a retractable leash. She tried to pull against it and went down and broke her hip and lost the dog. 😪 The other two I had warned, and they were nasty in responses to me, then came crying later after their dogs were taken to be eaten. I have little sympathy for the people who ignore good advice, but I feel bad for the dogs. Having a tall fence would make me feel secure and a coyote or mountain lion, jumping offense to take an animal s too, but that also happens around here so early morning hours and late night hours I just don’t leave dogs unattended outside.

Theresa Ziskovsky I watched a coyote jump a fence and take off a wee dog in Pasadena, Ca., in a matter of seconds, before I could put down my coffee and shout, going after it.
