I'm so sorry that Nikola is missing. Often they haven't gone far from the point of last seen so check with ALL of your neighbors!! If he's an indoor cat he is likely hiding nearby. Research shows that most cats are found within a 6 block radius of the point of last seen. Please ask your neighbors to check their sheds, garages, window wells, under porches, etc. anywhere he may have inadvertently been trapped. It's possible someone took him in thinking that he was a stray. Consider putting missing flyers in your neighborhood. Also check online at the found cats at the NoCo Humane Society. https://www.nocohumane.org/lost-found-pets/stray-cats-2/ Check daily because they are only on a stray hold for a short time before they can be adopted by others.
Look for him and call for him after it gets dark (around 9pm currently) and around dawn (around 5am currently) as that's when they move about. I've heard that they try to return the same way they left so if you can leave a garage door, window, etc. open.
If he's microchipped, make sure that your contact information connected to his chip registration is correct!
There are mixed opinions on putting out their litterbox. Put out a piece of your clothing and one of his blankets.
I've seen scammers replying to lost pet posts saying that they have found the lost pet. If you have to respond by messenger it is a scam. Praying that Nikola is home soon ❤️🙏
