Lost Cats‼️ Indoor only cats and limited outdoor access cats never go far. They go into survival mode and hide in silence. Most of them will not respond when they are in survival mode. 3 AM is the best time to find a missing indoor only cat. This is the time they become most active and responsive. Sit and quietly call for your kitty. Try to stay low, standing is intimidating to cats. Place some dirty socks and pillow cases outside. Your scent will attract your kitty. If you have a garage, place the items near the garage door and crack the door enough for her to get in. DO NOT leave food or litter box outside, it can attract predators and aggressive Tom cats. Because indoor only cats hide so well they are not as likely to be ed by a predator. Don't give up, it can me n take months to find a missing indoor only cat. Use a flashlight as late at night as you can to look in trees, under cars and in bushes. Try to look for the glow of her eyes. The best chance of you being reunited with your cat is to do a methodical search of the area. Most indoor only cats will be within 160 feet of your home. Survival mode lasts 5 to 14 days but can last longer. Once their hunger gets to a maximum theyqq snap out of it but this is a dangerous time because they come out of hiding. The majority of cats will try to make a break for home on the 5th night. In addition to posted flyers, make mini flyers and hand them out to your neighbors. Some people don't pay attention to posted flyers. It's VERY VERY important that you look for her as late at night as you can. If you have other cats, watch them. If they are spending a lot of time looking out a certain window, that’s a good indication the missing cat is in that area. Wildlife and motion activated cameras are also helpful. a lot of people are successful trapping their indoor only cats. If you decide to trap, you must watch the trap closely, predators can a cat in a trap.

First, search your house and property thoroughly; *Use a flashlight, look under and behind furniture and appliances, under beds, in bookshelves,in closets,in crawl spaces, sometimes closets have crawl spaces to under the house, look on the windowsills, out on your fire escape, in the garage,in the attic, go outside, and *during the day, bring a flashlight look under porches and decks, in crawl spaces, in and around bushes and shrubbery, on fences,at their base, go to the neighbor's house and ask them to check their garages, sheds and bats, they get trapped in them sometimes, ask them to look in their yards,or if you can, and ask if you can look under their porches and decks, ask them to look at their security,or surveillance camera's video for your cat, *Later tonight, after sunset, and with a flashlight and a bag of cat treats,or cat food, walk the neighborhood where kitty is lost,Calmly, without fear or anxiety in your voice, call your cat's name, don't yell, then shake the treat bag. With a flashlight, look under porches and decks, look under vehicles, and in their wheel wells, knock on bumpers and fenders, slap, or hit the hoods (sometimes they crawl in these spaces, like the engine for warmth and safety), look with light in and around bushes and shrubbery, up trees, in between, and if safe to, behind buildings and alleyways, use the light to expose the eye shine,or reflection of the cat's eyes, Calmly call the cat's name, then shake the treat bag, please repeat these actions throughout the neighborhood where kitty is lost every night after sunset, then again late night to right before dawn. *Put up Lost flyers in the neighborhood where the cat is lost, put on people's porches,if on doors,or mailbox, use painter's tape, put on street posts, in apartment buildings,in local businesses, in nearby school offices, their parking lots, in nearby stores, markets, Laundromats, cafes, in. Veterinary clinics, and pet stores. File a Lost report with the local animal control agency, *Post on Nextdoor in Cat Owner's group, and in Lost and Found Pets groups, post on Neighbors app, activate the Search Party feature. Pawboost, LostMyKitty, PetcoLoveLost offer free flyers for download, this one is from Canva.com

🚨 LOST INDOOR CAT – URGENT TIPS TO HELP BRING THEM HOME SAFELY 🚨 If your cat has gone missing and is usually indoors, here are critical steps to take: 🏠 Create a Safe Way for Your Cat to Return • Leave a door or window open (ideally the one they escaped from), even overnight - cats often return in the quiet late-night or early-morning hours. • Crack your garage door slightly to allow safe entry. • Place your worn, unwashed clothes up off the ground outside - your scent can help guide them home. • Do NOT place food, water, or litter boxes outside - these can attract other animals and deter your cat from returning. 🐾 Help Them Feel Safe • If you have other pets, keep them secured in a separate room to avoid scaring the missing cat away if they return. 🧭 Search Nearby and Alert Others • Cats typically don’t go far - they may be hiding under decks, in bushes, sheds, garages, or yards close to home. • Talk to your neighbors and ask them to check around their property. • Request that neighbors check doorbell or security cameras (like Ring) for sightings. 📣 Spread the Word – Not Everyone Uses Social Media • Put up physical signs ASAP - include a clear photo and contact info. • Post online in multiple places: • Facebook (your page and local lost pet groups) • Nextdoor • PawBoost Lost & Found • Ring Neighbors app ⚠️ Beware of Scams • If someone contacts you saying they have your cat and asks for money or asks you to verify a code, do NOT respond - this is a scam.
