I saw your post on Gainesville pet finder,can you put his little box outside? Try to get some old socks and put some sardines inside if you have trees near by hand on the trees this attracts cats old trick from my grandpa cats have a hude sense of smell also if you can rent or buy a trap is a good idea usually indoor cats are very scared outdoors and tend to hide day light and come out when is dark outside if you could place the trap near your house with his favorite food. If you need help I could go there and try to spot him I'm near sw 20 at Rock Wood villas.
