Message from Owner

Please help us bring Miyagi home. šŸ’”šŸ¾ Miyagi isn’t just our dog — he’s family, and our home doesn’t feel the same without him. We are heartbroken and just want to know that he is safe. He was last seen in the Dunning area near Irving & Narragansett. If you’ve seen him, have him, or know anything that could help us find him, please call. No piece of information is too small. Please, please share this post, especially if you’re in or around the Northwest Side of Chicago. Every share puts his face in front of another person who might recognize him. Miyagi, we’re looking for you. We love you. Please come home. ā¤ļøšŸ¾

Garrido Stray Rescue Foundation I genuinely appreciate the work Garrido Stray Rescue Foundation does for lost and stray animals, which is why I was disappointed by the way this was handled publicly. I understand that seeing the same dog become lost more than once can be frustrating. Believe me, it is incredibly frustrating and upsetting for me as his owner as well. However, you do not know the circumstances or dynamics within my household. I am the person who consistently makes sure he is inside, the doors and gates are secured, and that he is safe. Unfortunately, I cannot control every other person’s actions at all times. What I found especially unprofessional was bringing up a previous incident and publicly linking an old post. I’m not sure what purpose that served other than to highlight that he had gotten out before and open the door for judgment and assumptions about me as an owner. When someone is already scared and desperately trying to find their pet, a rescue organization should be a source of help and support—not public judgment. If there was a genuine concern, I would have been more than willing to discuss it privately. I appreciate everything your organization does for animals, but I hope going forward situations like this can be approached with a little more compassion and professionalism. There is often more happening behind the scenes than what can be understood from a Facebook post.

Bri Gomez maybe ask the owner what the reason is that he/she lost this dog not even 6 months apart. Do they need help with gates, education, etc.? He may not be so lucky next time around.
