Message from Owner

This baby girl means more to me than words could ever possibly express. I have been devastated to say the very least. I have been all over in my neighborhood looking for her and calling her name just hoping for a miracle that I will find her well and get her back . I will never stop looking for her, she's my baby girl I love her I miss her I hope she is ok. We have a ton of coyote in this area so I just pray she's ok somewhere and we find each other again. Thank you.

TIPS TO HELP FIND LOST PET:✅Place his/her bedding, your shoes, a piece of your unwashed clothing (such as a sweatshirt, blanket, pillowcases) and food/water outside *if there is coyotes in the area bring the food in at night*.🚫Do not put litter box outside. Putting the litter box outside can attract predators and other cats which might keep your cat from returning home🚫*Putting out the other items listed above, are scents only your cat will recognize* ‼️ They might be nearby and can’t figure out how to get inside ***IF you have a garage or door/sliding door that can be left open*** Leave the garage/ or door cracked for them and place the shoes, bedding, jand unwashed clothing in the garage‼️ ✅Walk around the area calling them calmly early morning and late evening when it’s quiet & shake a bag of treats or a squeaky toy, something they would recognize. ✅If he/she is microchipped contact the microchip company to report him/her lost and make sure your contact info is up to date. ✅Hang flyers (use a bright color board or paper) with picture in your neighborhood, surrounding areas, local shopping centers, businesses, vet's offices, groomers, etc. within a five mile radius from your home. ✅Go door to door with the flyers as well and try to speak with people when handing out flyers. ✅Make a sign with his/her picture and put it in your front yard stating he/she is missing. ✅File a lost report with the shelters in your area and surrounding area shelters ✅Check shelters in person, daily if possible. Ask to see the animals in isolation too. ✅Check shelter websites daily (as it is updated hourly) ✅Check shelter found reports for found postings but not at the shelter. ✅Take a flyer to the shelters. ✅File online with petharbor, pawboost ✅Post on area lost and found pet and community Facebook pages, area shelter Facebook pages, newspapers, nextdoor and Craigslist under "pets" and "Lost and Found". Cats usually are close to home. Hang clothes with your scent out. Ask your neighbors if they would look in their yard or garage or storage sheds to see if he is there or check their Ring camera to see if he was spotted on camera. Make sure you post fliers with your contact information on it so if he is spotted they can call you and tell his location. Keep an access point open for him to slip back in your home. Look in bushes or hiding spots around your home as if he is scared he will make himself safe by finding a hiding spot. Sometimes the best time to find your cat is when the noise level is low - after hours - or early morning hours. Take a flashlight and shine and look for the eyes under cars up trees in bushes. Good luck!

LOST CAT (CAT GOT OUT) … Indoor-only cats and limited-outdoor-access cats never go far. They go into survival mode and hide in silence. Most of them will not respond when they are in survival mode. Three o’clock in the morning is the best time to find a missing cat. This is the time they become most active and responsive. • Sit and quietly call for your kitty • Try to stay low, standing is intimidating to cats • Place worn unlaundered socks and slept-on unlaundered pillow cases outside. Your scent will attract kitty. If you have a garage, place these items near the garage door and crack the door enough for him/her to get in • DO NOT leave food or litter box outside as it can attract predators and aggressive Tom cats • Because indoor-only cats hide so well, they are not as likely to be attacked by a predator • Do not give up, it can take months to find a missing indoor-only cat • Use a flashlight late at night to look in trees, under cars and in bushes. Try to look for the glow of his eyes • The best chance of being reunited with your cat is to do a methodical search of the area • Most indoor-only cats will be within 160 feet of your home • Survival mode usually lasts 5 to 14 days, but can last longer. Once their hunger gets to a maximum they snap out of it — this is a dangerous time because they come out of hiding • The majority of cats will try to make a break for home on the fifth night • In addition to posting flyers, make mini flyers and hand them out to neighbors as some people don't pay attention to posted flyers • It is VERY VERY important that you look for your cat as late at night / early morning (between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM) as possible • If safe to do so, open/ajar doors into home (most importantly door/window kitty escaped through) • If you have other cats, watch them. If they are spending a lot of time looking out a certain window, that is a good indication your missing cat is in that area • Wildlife- and motion-activated cameras are also helpful • A lot of people are successful trapping their indoor-only cats. If you decide to use a trap (cover trap with blanket/towel). Closely watch/monitor trap as predators can a cat in a trap • Lastly, if cat is microchipped, be sure to contact microchip company to report your cat lost/missing and verify current contact information. Hope these tips help bring HONEY home safe asap !!🏡

My personal experience has been first securing other cats in another closed-off room, dimming/turning off most or all inside/outside lights and — if safe to do so and should be supervised — leaving doors (especially door/window escaped through) open/ajar in the very early morning (basically, need to camp out in room where door is ajar). (Cats have a keen wide-ranging/radius sense of smell; therefore, it is so important to get their familiar “home” scents into the airwaves.) Every time, my little escape artist has come bolting through the door between 3:00 — 5:00 AM. (NOTE: When he’s escaped and door is closed, he panics and takes off again — it is important they have a way in once they come out of hiding and make a mad dash for home.) Hopefully, if not used to being outdoors, HONEY is very close by just scared to come out until it’s really dark and really quiet. Prayers for a quick safe return !!🙏🏻

General Information: Hang clothes with your scent on it (Worn clothing from owner) high up outside so the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat back home. Ask your neighbors to check their yard/could be accidently stuck in their garage or shed. (If applicable) Check doorbell or home camera - or ask neighbors to check their camera. Post Fliers with a picture of the cat and your contact information in the area the cat went missing. Not everyone is on Social Media and posters have worked in that if spotted a location can be provided. If a cat is scared they make themselves safe by finding a good hiding spot and often times hide in silence. Look in bushes - bring a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Best time to find your cat is in the early morning hours when the noise level is low and they feel safe. Leave an access point open for the cat to return. This is important if they do come back in the middle of the night. Prayers your cat returns/ or is found safely. Beware of scammers.
