Is this Misty from Nanuet, NY ? Why don’t you put the location / area that the pet was originally missing from ? Why can’t you edit the original post so we know who you’re talking about. I don’t want to sound critical but it would help a lot for people like myself who follow your page and share your posts if relevant to our area. I know there is a Cat named Misty missing from Nanuet in Rockland County, New York. But I’ve no idea if this is the same Misty that you are referring to above - please confirm, thank you.

I'll post on Rockland Missing Pets now and share to other fb groups in your area. If the owner sees this post, please pass on these very important tips asap. Even though Misty goes outside, these tips are still very helpful: ***If your cat is an indoor only cat, chances are she is close by and very scared. Indoor only cats usually stay within a 500 foot radius of where they escaped from and hide to feel safe and secure. Please go outside now and at dusk and dawn every day until she’s found and look under any place she could hide to feel safe. Take a flashlight and look under: bushes, cars, decks, porches, stairs, sheds, tarps, etc. Check in open sheds and garages. Tell all your neighbors that she’s missing and that they should look in all these places too on a regular basis until she’s found. Hang flyers in your area and put them in the mailboxes of all the homes within a 500 ft. radius of your home and in the mailboxes of all the neighbors on your street. Check all the neighbors’ security cameras on a regular basis. During the day ONLY, put out her litter box and some food but take them in when it starts to get dark because they will attract other animals that will scare her away. Put out some items with your scent to attract her to come back home. If you can leave a door open a little bit, put out a trail of treats that lead into your open door and into your home. When it’s quiet out at night, call her name and shake her treats can/box to see if she comes or you hear her respond with a soft meow. And.....are you absolutely sure she got out? Look EVERYWHERE inside your home where she might have gotten stuck....a drawer, closet, crawl space, etc. Please remember…..you need to be vigilant and keep looking until she’s found! Don’t give up hope and please keep us updated. We hope she’s home very soon! (LP)
