MESSAGE FROM OWNER

Winnie was last seen around 3:30 p.m. in the area of Island Point subdivision near the cul-de-sac on Pierpoint Drive. He is a very large tabby and we believe him to be deaf or hard of hearing. He never runs off but we think he was chased from our hse by two dark brown labs that were loose in our neighborhood. We have searched and posted alerts to our neighborhood but no one has seen him. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

DESCRIPTION

Very large gray striped tabby cat with white chest. Hard of hearing.

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/znffYKCscXqyU1F1/?mibextid=K35XfP Could this be him?! It looks like it’s about 16 miles away from you. But I saw the post on the other website. ❤️

He’s probably right near your home. Cats stay close usually. Best time to find him is between 11 pm and 5 am when it’s dark and quiet. Use a flashlight to search bushes. Easy to spot him then because the light will reflect on his eyes. Worked for me many times. They don’t come to even your call during the day. They get scared even from you. Best at night when the world is quiet. Also put out his bed or litter pan and food to smell his way home

I'm so sorry about your baby.🥺💔 Most cats stay close to home or near to where they were lost so it is critical to be as proactive as possible. Check everywhere, even in drain pipes and drains. Use a flashlight after dark as it will make their eyes glow. Indoor-only cats will often not recognize their owner outside because it is a different environment and they are scared. Set up a food station with food and water and sit quietly by it (3-4 feet away) every single day especially in the morning and at dusk/night so your cat can get used to you being there. Put dry food in a plastic container with a lid and periodically shake it and call your cat's name. Crack your garage door or leave a porch door open so it can get inside. Work with a cat rescue to immediately set a cat trap or you can order one or more on Amazon and set them yourself. You will need to check the trap(s) every morning and evening. Once the trap is set you can pick up the food from the food station but leave the water. Print some flyers for neighbors and businesses in the area. Put some in public areas and offer some type of reward, if you can. A reward will incite people to intentionally be on the lookout for your cat or to return it to you.
