Amanda Elise Wright, please forgive me if I'm overstepping, but you said Mikey has a sore chin from his flea collar. Is it a Seresto collar? I've read some concerning things about those flea collars recently and even though some are sold by vets, they come with serious warnings. Until recently I just assumed they were safe, but now I'm not so sure. I just thought I should mention it. I hope Mikey will heal quickly. Take care.

Amanda Elise Wright, your instincts were correct -- in your situation I would have cracked open the pool enclosure door (if that's where he got out) and place food at the doors into the house. You wouldn't have left the sliding door open, but watched for Mikey and opened it when he arrived. But I see now that wasn't necessary -- you found your little guy and all is well! I'm so relieved and happy for you and your family. Now Mikey will be safe at home when your son arrives. This is wonderful news. Yay!
