Scorch is a sweet indoor cat who got out on Saturday. She is very small..5 lbs...but with long hair. She knows her name, loves Temptations packets, and will come to her name and "its time for a treat, it's time for a treat." She may also come to a jingle bell. Please contact me if you see her.

I get it, but what I learned from rescuers/trappers, is that coyotes know that a litter box means a cat is nearby - it’s like leaving food out - it attracts predators. The shoes/clothing/towels/pillowcases are the safer bet and work really well. I’m glad that your cat made made it home safely! Cats will hide out longer if there is a coyote threat, too. I would rather error on the side of caution and not put a cat in danger by suggesting that.
