Sad seeing so many kitties go missing 30+, just this week. Poor baby, she must be so scared and hungry out on her own. 🐈 When a cat goes missing, they can’t easily find their way home using only their scent. You must be proactive and look for them. 🔍Look under yours & your neighbor’s cars, bushes & hedges, look for glowing eyes w/flashlight, call her early evening when it’s quiet and they come out from hiding to eat. Posting is important, but please search for her, too. They don’t go far 3-4 houses away, they stay in one place until they are scared off by dogs, coyotes, or loud equipment. The challenge is to find her before she gets any further away. 📣Please hang flyers near the area where she went missing, it’ll get the immediate attention from pedestrians, drivers and your neighbors will know you’re looking for her. 🐈‍⬛ YOU’RE the one that can bring her home safely, she will recognize your voice and your scent. Please check with SDHS Lost & Found daily, post on ND. If you’re able to find her, PLEASE, please don’t let her go outside unattended. Cats have the intelligence of a 3yo. It only takes an hour to train a cat on a leash, then she can be out doors safely. This is Coyote Country.

Get a picture out to all delivery drivers in your area. UPS, FEDEX, AMAZON, BUS DRIVERS and MAIL CARRIERS. Ask them to put up in their break rooms. They have eyes 👀 all over the place. Might be able to give a sighting location. Go to and leave a picture and all local shelters, vet clinics, police departments, and fire departments/ambulance services. Good luck getting your baby home 🏠 And when you get your baby home please put a collar on with your phone number. MICROCHIP AND REGISTERED AND KEEP YOUR INFORMATION CURRENT!!!

My indoor only male black cat got out once. We put out all the scents. Old blankets, our unwashed clothes, his scratch post, his empty dirty litter box, vacuum dust etc. My nextdoor neighbor would see him trying to return during the day while we were at work. Then get scared and run off into nearby woods. I started setting my alarm for 3am while it was quiet and go out calling him. Finally after 5 days I heard him crying in very thick bushes Nextdoor to our house. I saw his eyes with my flashlight. I had to literally crawl to get him. He was like afraid to move. I finally got him . They usually don’t travel far. They will hunker down close by.

Most indoor cats will stay very close to home, but they will go into hiding because they go into survival mode, especially during the day. If it’s at all possible for you to put some recently worn clothing, bedding, a cat tree, if your cat has one near a open door window or garage where the cat will have access to return home, they usually will do it between midnight and 3 AM in the morning. Do not put a litter box out because that will attract other predators such as coyotes, raccoons, skunks, etc. At night time, you can also take a flashlight looking under cars in trees and bushes Taking with you a bag of treats if your cat is treat motivated, calling its name softly staying low to the ground, shaking the bag and using the flashlight to possibly light up your cats eyes. Sometimes they can stay in hiding for days so don’t give up. Hope these tips help and that you’re beautiful. Cat returns home safely and soon🙏🐈‍⬛❤️ don’t give up sometimes they can stay in hiding for over a week until they get really hungry, especially when a lot of commotion is going on during the daytime. Plus you have to remember if it’s caught out in the rain it’s going to really go into deep hiding to keep safe also so it may take a while so don’t give up.
