Hope you find your kitten quickly. 🙂 The best way I know to get the word out in the neighborhood is to be knocking on doors and talking with everyone, making sure they have your posters with contact information. Let them know that kitties get accidentally locked in anywhere left open for a while. Garages, outbuildings, crawl spaces, in and under porches, cars, campers, etc., etc. Might offer to help check. Check everywhere on your property, too. Go out after dark with a flashlight. One of mine got into a bat that wouldn't have been checked if I hadn't done this. One came home smelling of perfume after this, so there's that. 😉 For both of them it was over a month before I learned to do this! Make a lost kitty report at shelters. Do check shelters daily. They show photos of found kitties online. After about a week some become adoptable so see adoptable kitties also. Go, call, ask questions. Checking in person is better. Call all vets, too. SAVE TIME getting to neighbors: Might spare yourself time for making posters. It's OK to just go knock on doors. Take a little notebook with you and write out the particulars for anyone you talk with. I'd just draw a simple cat picture to make the note easy for the neighbor to keep track of. 🙂 If you are artful, fold the note "artistically" -- anything to keep it in sight! If you have kids they'd have paper-folding ideas. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Knock on neighbor’s doors. Check the humane society, often, in person. Post on nextdoor and pawboost. Go out at night with a flashlight, shake treats and call her. Look in hedges, trees, under stairs, under decks and in window wells. Put out colored flyers and offer a reward. Ask your neighbors to check their sheds and garages. Open your garage door slightly and put her bed and some food in there. Put up a ring doorbell and security cameras and see if she triggers it. Put out a humane trap with food in it and see if she goes inside of the trap (check the trap very often (once an hour or so) as you don’t want her to be trapped in the elements. Put out an article of your clothing near the door or window where she escaped. If your kitty is chipped, contact the Chip company and make sure your information is up to date. Also report the kitty as missing. This way if he/she is scanned by a vet, they will contact you.

Kitty is a beautiful kitty. Praying she is safe and comes home soon! I know this is a lot of info, but they truly are all helpful tips…. Please look very closely around the outside of your house or apartment. They seldom go far and will often hide close by. Open a can of smelly tuna. If she hungry, it may lure her out. It is very stressful when your fur baby goes missing... -Go outside immediately and look around the house or apartment very carefully. Many times they do not go far and will watch you look for them! -Please put your furbaby's bed and a piece of your clothing outside. They have an amazing sense of smell. Recent information indicates, that you should not put out your cat box outside. It can/will attract predators, such as coyotes and could force your kitty to move farther away from home. -Put up flyers up on gang mailboxes in your neighborhood and adjacent neighborhoods. More eyes to help you find your baby! If they see him/her, they will know how to contact you. -Take the flyer to your neighbors. -Go door to door. Many times, once a neighbor has seen a picture, they will be on the lookout. -Ask your neighbors if you can look in their yard, in their garages, in window wells, under bushes, up in trees, on roofs. - Go out every night with a flashlight searching to see his/her eyes. They can be hiding anywhere. -Listen carefully for a meow. S/he has probably not gone far, but time is of the essence before S/he does leave the area or a predator finds your baby. -S/he could be very close by, stuck or just hiding. Even if you don't find him/her soon don't give up! -Cats are amazing survivors, they can hide or wander around for a long time. If they are fearful of people, it can take a while for people to catch them and take them to the Humane Society or a vet to scan for a chip. S/he is probably hunkering down right now. -Put your furbaby on PawBoost. -File a lost report with the Humane Society. -Check with the Humane Society every day. -Go down to the Humane Society to look in person. Sometimes they may have incorrect info. -Don’t give up and keep the faith! -Prayers and good thoughts going your way!!!
